Enya-my big bear
I have had my Rottweiler Enya since she was a pup in 2010. I drove 200 miles overnight to see her, and when I got there she walked up to me, plonked herself on my feet and refused to move.
She was just 6 weeks old and we have been inseparable ever since. She and my other four-legged friend, which is a 4 year old Border Collie called Buddy, constantly play and watch over each other. They keep me consistently entertained and have helped me through a lot, including the death of my father and my mother within the space of 6 months.
My mum and dad used to adore them both and would spend hours fussing over them. Both dogs even came to the funerals, as I know mum and dad both would have wanted.
Enya has been a fantastic companion, coming with me everywhere she can, both her and Bud love car trips. When they can't go, I look in the rear view mirror of the car to see both their faces pressed against the window of the estate!
I would say Enya's only fault (in others eyes, not mine), is her level of protectiveness of me. If she senses a problems, she's instantly at her guard, sits straight in front of me, with a glare that could scare anyone. She would never go for anyone, I'm sure of that, but it does worry others sometimes.
But as soon as she sees they are not a threat, she's all over them like a rash. She's my big loveable bear, and she's already watching my every move with interest as me and my fiance are having our first child, she's knows there's more laughter to come!
